The Edward S. Moore Family Foundation, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit philanthropic foundation which supports organizations that care for the bodies, enrich the minds and uplift the spirits of humankind by funding to not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organizations. Within this broad purpose is a primary focus on those organizations which empower under-served youth, families and communities.

The Edward S. Moore Family Foundation, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit corporation registered in the state of Connecticut in 2004 and funded by assets generated by the dissolution of the Edward S. Moore Foundation. Edward S. Moore Jr. created this original foundation in 1957 and oversaw operations until his death in 1959 at the age of 53. Moore Jr.'s only son, Edward S. Moore III, managed the foundation from that time until his death in 1968 at the age of 36. At that time the foundation became the shared responsibility of Marion Moore Gilbert, Moore Jr.'s only surviving child, and John W. Cross III, a nephew, who managed the foundation together until the 2004 resolution that created two independent charitable organizations. Marion Moore Gilbert is the founding president of the foundation, which bears her grandfather's name and whose board includes her husband Roger Gilbert, and their four children, Jeffrey Gilbert, Louisa Gilbert, Jane Gilbert and Katrina Gilbert Millard.
